At Strickhof we conduct crop variety trials in different species together with partners and use remote sensing‑based phenotyping to monitor plant parameters and address current agronomic questions. Our sites also offer experimental plots and associated field management services for external research trials.

At Strickhof, we run crop variety trials across a range of agricultural species, working in close cooperation with breeding companies, research institutes, and other partners. Additional trials focus on performance, stress tolerance, nutrient use efficiency, and cultivation suitability for Swiss growing conditions, providing practical data for both innovation and advisory services.

A key element of our approach is the use of remote sensing. We employ drones equipped with multispectral and RGB cameras to obtain vegetation indices, which allow us to assess plant health, biomass, canopy cover, and heterogeneity within experimental plots. These image‑based data are integrated with ground measurements, enabling non‑destructive monitoring of phenological stages, growth dynamics, and response to treatments throughout the season.
In addition to hosting own and partner‑led experiments, Strickhof offers agricultural land—including technical management and infrastructure—for external experimental use. Agricultural plots are available for multi‑year or short‑term research trials, with accompanying services such as seeding, fertilization, plant protection, and harvest, adapted to the requirements of different research questions.
